Adaptation qualification
Professional qualifications in nursing acquired abroad can be recognized in Germany through a preparatory course for the knowledge test.
Goals
The DRK Akademie SH offers preparatory courses for the knowledge test. These serve to prepare foreign nursing staff who wish to have the equivalence of their professional qualification acquired abroad recognized. The aim is to acquire the missing knowledge certified by the Schleswig-Holsteinische Institut für Berufliche Bildung. The qualification is completed with a practical and theoretical knowledge test. On request, it is also possible to take a knowledge test without attending the preparatory course.
Requirements
- a professional qualification in nursing/care for the elderly acquired abroad,
- a certificate from the Schleswig-Holsteinischen Instituts für Berufliche Bildung (SHIBB), in which significant differences to the domestic occupational profile of the nursing specialist or health and nursing care worker have been determined.
- The DRK Akademie SH also conducts the knowledge test for the degree in health and nursing care after consultation.
- Proven German language skills according to B1 level (certificate) at course registration and according to B2 level at examination registration (certificate),
- Employment in an acute, inpatient or outpatient care facility in Schleswig-Holstein with which the DRK Akademie SH has concluded a cooperation agreement.
► The DRK Akademie SH conducts aptitude interviews with the participants in the facilities in advance. We help participants without current employment to find a suitable practical facility.

Costs
There is the possibility of funding via education vouchers from the Agentur für Arbeit.
